| |
Preheat you American Barbecue Systems grill to medium-high. Whisk sugar, oil and seasonings together in a large bowl. Add shrimp and toss to coat. Let stand for 10 minutes. Thread 2 shrimp onto each of 8 pre-soaked skewers, then grill just until opaque. About 2 1/2 minutes per side. Overcooked shrimp will be tough and chewy. |

This recipe is the perfect appretizer, and it also works great as and accompaniment for salads. Couple of quick notes, always make sure to pre-soak your skewers before using. The damp skewers help conduct heat and help keep the ends from burning. I find it good practice to add a test skewer on the griil with 1 shrimp. This way I can check the doneness. Like I said earlier, overcooked shrimp will be tough and chewy.
